Persona Formation

Persona Formation is about adolescence — the turbulent process of building an identity under emotional, social and psychological pressure.

An unstable face comes out of a swirling field of blue gestures and dark currents, caught halfway between appearing and dissolving. Short pale blue strokes cross over the oval of the face like a grid, with dark red showing through beneath them.

The absence of clearly defined features transforms the portrait into a psychological state. The movement around the face is both its setting and a force in its own right. It makes instability visible — the noise, the change, the tension inside.

The painting is part of the Visages series. It treats the human face as a structure that keeps shifting — shaped by memory, feeling and perception, and rebuilt again and again.
