Multifaceted

Visages Inquire about this work

Multifaceted goes into the depth of the inner world and into how a person comes to know who they are.

It began as a single face on a yellow field and grew, layer by layer, into faces, flowers, symbols and geometric shapes. The yellow now shows only in patches under ochre and brown.

Three mask-like faces stand in a row, their eyes running in one line across the canvas, above a band of yellow, violet and orange. Flowers and triangles fill the space around them.

It asks what is hidden behind our masks and how those masks form the person we become.
