Evening Sigh

Evening Sigh records an inner conflict, the way a diary does: tension let out onto paper.

The drawing uses only black and gray: sharp vertical stems and arcs of charcoal run over a softly rubbed gray ground.

The whole sheet is like one deep breath, full of awareness and regret. The same breath brings acceptance and release.

The drawing treats art as a way to turn personal experience into an image, and into catharsis.
