The Eye of Time

In The Eye of Time, four eyes, each in its own heavy round outline, stand one above another on a vertical axis. Through them the drawing looks at perception, time and space.

The monochrome field turns the gaze inward. Charcoal strokes fan out and upward from the column on both sides.

Each eye is in its own state. One is half-closed and calm, others are tense; in those, looking itself becomes a struggle.

The work asks who is looking, who is being looked at, and where the boundary between observer and object begins.
