Signa II

Signa II is the second work in the Signa series.

The central form coils into a spiral, a flow held together just before it falls apart.

Its motion gathers inward into a dense core of raised paste. Above and below it open two black cavities, like voids or chambers for breath. The whole form is thick yellow on black, saturated from the inside.

The painting pulses and holds the pulse in. The canvas turns into a body, with energy circulating through it.

Nothing pushes from outside. Everything starts inside the form, and the form keeps its tension in a balance that stays alive.

This is the second mark in the sequence.

Here the state has grown dense.

The cycle has begun to breathe.
