Structural Energy

Structural Energy turns the state into a diagram: a structure, and the force moving through it. Some paintings are laid out almost like plans — a wheel with spokes around a black core, triangles nested down to one small red point, dark blocks set into an orange ground like a map of a city. In others the force breaks the order: black strokes burst out from a center, blue bars drop out of a grid, a turquoise band winds around a single vertical line or cuts across a field of thin colored lines.

Acrylic goes onto canvas, paper and cardboard, in flat shapes or in heavy, dragged strokes. Each painting catches one moment — pressure building, a system coming apart, a new order starting to form.
