Inner Matter

Inner Matter looks for what holds when pressure comes from outside — the dense center a person keeps. The series starts with Inner Core: one round mass in dark red, alone in a black field that fills the sheet.

A brighter red rim runs along its edge and thickens at the bottom, like light caught from behind. Inside, thin layers of acrylic on paper are rubbed and scratched until the form looks heavy rather than drawn.
