Common Forms

Common Forms keeps the same inner state as my other series, but without a figure. The state sits in an ordinary object: a Vespa seen head-on, an espresso cup with a spoon on its saucer. Each object stands alone and frontal against a loosely brushed field — turquoise behind the scooter, dark brown opening into a warm glow behind the cup. Acrylic on canvas: the scooter is drawn in gold-brown outlines with the ground showing through, and the cup is built up in smooth, careful layers. It is a young series, taken from the table and the street.
